The majority of the sensual foam images captured on the island beaches of Providenciales resulted from setting up my tripod and then waiting — for that Kodak moment! Rarely was I disappointed. A few of these images lend themselves to exciting five-to-six foot long Giclée prints on either gallery-wrapped canvas or traditionally-framed, museum quality mats.
One popular image of a wave on Monhegan Island in Maine (shown at right) surprised me with its vivid, light turquoise color. I crouched down on a water’s edge rock with my Nikon Coolpix, focused on the incoming wave, so I could snap the shutter at the perfect moment when that special light passed through the apex of the wave — and then ran like hell before it crashed right where I had been perched moments before! I named it “Monhegan Beauty”.
