Abstract Surrealism

Valstracts (the name I apply to my paintings) is appropriate for my painting style since it lends itself to “abstract surrealism” — not truly abstract or surreal, but a combination of the two. I paint from my heart, portraying either personal experiences or using Mother Nature’s creations to develop a philosophical idea. Oftentimes I will take an object from the beach or the woods and convert it into a human-like image. Thought-provoking and stimulating to the imagination, my paintings evoke a sensuality that appeals to an imaginative, romantic audience.
